In 1590 King Henry iV won the french wars of religion that had been going on since 1561. Even though this war officially started in 1561 it really started in 1518 with publishment of “95 theses” by Martin Luther. With 4 million people dead it was the 2nd deadliest religion war in european history, second to only 30 years war. Its the 18th most deadly war in history.
