mar 16, 1774 - Coercive Act

Description:

Parliament passed four Coercive Acts to force Massachusetts after the Boston Tea Party. This was for them to help pay for the tea and submit to imperial authority, closing Boston Harbor for shipping. The Massachusetts Government Act annulled the colony's charter and cancelled most town meetings. In return, patriot leaders throughout the colonies called it "Intolerable and rallied support.
