mar 18, 1766 - Declaratory Act

Description:

When news arrived in Britain, George III had dismissed Grenville as prime minister. Parliament had decided the Stamp Act was too much, Earl of Rockingham came up with a compromise. He repealed the Stamp Act and then reduced the duty on molasses to a penny a gallon. After doing that reaffirmed Parliament's power.
