so serious because peasants wanted money/social mobility that ruling class did not want to give
Preacher John Ball fired up peasants
destroyed houses, killed nobles etc.
Richard II (ruled 1377-1399) met with rebellion leaders “agreed to charter ensuring peasants’ freedom, tricked them with false promises and then crushed the uprising with terrible ferocity”
