dec 29, 1982 - Paul Mockapetris creates the DNS at the University of southern California. The creation of the DNS allowed the current state of the internet to be more than just a technological development for educational purpose by creating the hierarchical system of naming hosts that is the DNS. Through the many servers located throughout the internet the internet expanded way faster than it couldve if it was centrally controlled.
