Description:
After gigantic stikes in August of 1980 that was lead by Lech Walesa, a former electrician turned political activist, the Polish Communists were forced into negotiations with Walesa. The result of this was the Gdansk Agreement of August 31, 1980, which gave the workers the right to strike and to organize independent labor unions.
