jan 1, 1948 - Division of Korea
Description:
Division of Korea (1948)
Division of Korea happened after the World War II and at the end of Japan’s colonization in 1945. After the independence Korea went through hard times. They were struggling economically and also struggled to keep the country in peace. Since Japan had all the power for around 35 years, after the independence, Korea didn’t even have any power to protect the country. There were also 2 different opinion on how to run the government. Some people want the korea to be democratic and some wanted the Korea to be a communist country. The two opinions had a conflict between them which led up to the Korean war ( which I will talk more about later on ). There were many different soldiers in Korea and the two sides asked the soldiers for help. The Soviet Union and China helped the people of communist and the United state help the people of democracy. The Soviet Union and China had control over the north area and United states in south area. The people of communist followed Kim il sung and the people of democracy followed Lee syngman. And eventually in 1948 38th line was drawn.
