Bill Monroe created this new form of "traditional" country music. The Bluegrass boys used traditional acoustic instruments and featured distinctive vocal harmonies. The music incorporated songs and rhythm from string band,gospel,black labor work song,country, and blues music repertoires. Vocal Selections included duet, trio and quartet harmony as well as Bill's solos.
