The Village People was a project born of two men initially belonging to a small group called "The Ritchie Family". After realizing the need for backup singers, the two men approached a 3rd man that they had seen in Broadway Musical. 4 tracks were then recorded, one being named Village people. Gaining popularity and demands to see Village people live, the band realized they need more people and 3 men quickly became 6. Their most popilar song to date is Y.M.C.A.
