sep 5, 1774 - The First Continental Congress

Description:

This was a direct response to the intolerable acts. This was a meeting involving elected delegates from all states except GA. The congress was designed to allow free debate and came to decision that though they were still loyal to Britain, they opposed the right to tax them.
It's importance lies in the fact that the colonists agreed to reconvene if their grievances were not addressed.
