Description:
The Blu-ray Disc was released with the purpose of being a successor to the DVD. It had the capability of storing videos at 1080p, allowing the consumer to watch movies and videos in high definition. On the other hand, DVDs at the time were only being able to store videos in standard 480p definition. A dual layer DVD can hold up to 8.7 GB of data, whereas standard Blu-ray Disc can hold up to 25 GB of data, with newers discs being able to hold over 100 GB, which allows for high resolutions.
