Hailing from Queens New York the four-piece band won the hearts of many a angst ridden teen with the release of their first self-titled album containing the genre defining anthem “Blitzkrieg Bop”. The Ramones took all the violence, drug use, relationship issues, mistrust in government, that was ramped in the 60s and turned it into a something tangible. Punk was not simply a musical genre but a revolution, a way of going about life that would continue to inspire antics and revolution for the later half of the 20th century and one that continues today.
