jan 1, 1838 - M.J. Schleiden and T.S. Schwann
Description:
Schleiden and Schwann compared plant and animals' cells and discovered a nucleus in all of them. It appeared that anything smaller than a cell could not survive. They came to the conclusion that cells are the basic unit of life, everything alive has to be made up of one or more cells.
