1. One of the members of the committee who wrote the Declaration of Independence never signed it he believed that it was too soon to declare independence and therefore refused to sign
2. w=Which the declaration was to consist", and it then appointed Jefferson and himself to form a subcommittee to really write them down
3. The Declaration of Independence in 1776 became the defining event in Thomas Jefferson's life
