aug 17, 1982 - Compact Disc
Description:
Unveiled by Philips in Germany, a recording of Claudio Arrau performing Chopin waltzes was pressed onto a CD, and was the first commercial CD, since there were scarce amounts of CDs prior to this that were not publicly available.
I chose this because it has changed the way we listen to music. It has also changed how information is stored, since DVDs can store video information in the same way CDs store audio. CDs also ended the era of analog audio (vinyls & phonograph)
