sep 22, 1940 - Invasion of Indochina and U.S. embargos
Description:
Japan moved troops into French Indochina. This pushed the U.S. to the edge. When the Japanese expanded even further into the southerner region of Indochina the U.S. froze all Japanese assets and placed embargoes on almost everything. This was a huge economic setback for Japan; only adding to the tensions between themselves and the United States. For the Japanese this meant war.
