A number of little events almost led to war between FR and GE in 1875. Bismarck was doing all he could to keep FR isolated. When GE's actions vis-a-vis FR gave BR and RU fright and they warned Bismarck, it revealed a possible alignment b/w FR, BR and RU against him.
