My great-grandmother died in October of 2017. Although I did not know her particularly well (I had only seen her about five times in my life), I liked her and cared about her enough to feel true sadness at her passing.

This was the first time that someone I truly cared about had died, and for the first time in my life, I was able to truly understand the meaning of death.
