Description:

In the 1940s Les Paul was unhappy with how his records sounded, he felt that his sound was not different enough from other artists. Capitol Records released a recording that had begun as an experiment in Les Paul’s garage, called “Lover (When You’re Near Me) which features Les Paul playing eight different parts on the guitar, some parts recorded at half speed which would be played ‘doubly-fast’ when played at normal speed for the master, this multi-track recording was done using acetate discs.
