Description:

This version of David stands at 191 cm and is made of marble. Davids face is blank, which shows the impression that Ghiberti's Gothic style had on young Donatello. Some scholars have said that there is a look of cockiness on his face. This sculpture was commissioned by the Medici family and was originally going to be placed in the center of the Medici palace courtyard.
