dec 10, 1949 - Phototypesetting
Description:
This was discovered in 1949 and is the method of photographing characters onto a layer of film on which plates are created. The characters are developed as photographic positives on a light sensitive bit of film from a negative master containing the characters. This is then used to create a letterpress, gravure or lithograph plate through the photomechanical process.
