Description:
This process of printing was created in the mid 15th century and had wide use until the 19th century. It is also often called Relief or typographical printing. This creates a large number of copies instead of one at a time and will still be used to this day. It does this by repeated imprinting on a raised, inked surface on a continuous roll of paper. This is one of the oldest printing methods and was still important all the way up until the 18th century where lithography was invented.
