Description:
The Act of Uniformity was among the efforts of Queen Elizabeth I's "Elizabethan Religious Settlements" in England, also known as her attempts to unify the Anglican Church (made up of Church of England and the Anglican Communion). This Act demanded certain requirements of the English people, such as their attendance to religious ceremonies, as well as the settlement of the order of prayer used in the English Book of Common Prayer.
