Description:
Following the a brief war, the republic of Transvaal gains independence however, remains under British suzerainty. This essentially means that the British controlled the foreign policy and international relations of the republic, but in internal affairs it functioned as an independent country with self-rule. The British also recognized the independence of the Orange Free State.
Under this treaty, the Boer republics would be forbidden from expanding outside of annexations permitted by the British.
