1925 was seen as a great year for Guatemala, as with the collapse of the British Empire, Guatemala was finally able to exercise it’s claim on Belize. While the Guatemalan troops moved in through the south of Belize in order to take it all over, they faced resistance among the population who still wanted to be independent or at least under the British.
