The Slave Act was an Act of Parliament of the untied kingdom passed on march 25. It outlawed the slave trade, but not slavery itself . It became illgeal to carry slaves in british ships the abolitionists had assumed that ending the slave trade would eventually lead to the freeing of enslaved people
