Description:
Canada and the US officially merged air defense against the Soviet Union on September 12, 1957, by signing the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). Both American and Canadian forces, bases, and radars were controlled in Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. A second control station was established in North Bay, Ontario.
