Charlie Gant, a 72 year old rancher from Caddo, Texas (now a ghost-town) shot a "booger" in July 18th 1964, although it hit his arm and barely affected the animal. The same day, 9 year old Gene Couch reported seeing an ape while on his way to a fishing spot with his dad. 4 dogs in a span of a week were killed by their neck being snapped, but not eaten. The ape was described as being 7 ft tall, four ft wide and looking like a gorilla, with two legs, long arms and hair all over the body. Deputy Sherriff Edgar Martin said on the incident "if its a prank, its a highly dangerous one, someone could get killed, no doubt there's something, but we don't know what it is".
