apr 1, 1917 - WWI - Great Migration
Description:
6 million blacks moved from the South to places of greater opportunity in the North and West, making themselves known in cities around the country. A good majority of them had to deal with racism that came from their sudden presence, but they became very vocal about issues in urban communities, and made their own culture within said communities.

As noted in the previous statement, there was a significant cultural impact caused by this event. Many lives were affected by movement from the South, and in the North, everyone in towns and cities knew of the presence of the new blacks. Most adapted to their presence, but many did not (as acknowledged in an earlier point).
