On this day Hitler was born in Braunau Am Inn, a small town on the border of Germany and Austria.

Though this was his birth, it also is a significant time for his possible death. Looking at infant mortality rates at the time, Hitler had a 22.3% chance of dying during the birth. This is because Hitler's father wasn't particularly wealthy, working as a low-level buearacrat in Austrian government.

This means that on this day humanity had a more than 1 in 5 chance of not seeing the atrocities Hitler committed. Crazy to think, isn't it?
