During the Hudson's Bay Company owning many trade posts in Lake Superior, the native cree people told them about a hairy giant called the "Monsookan" that would harass them by screaming and throwing rocks and knocking trees with large sticks. It became so frustrating for them, the indigenous people moved to what is now Nipigon First Nations reserve.Added to timeline:
