dec 14, 1601 - Standard English begins to emerge.

Description:

The Chancery of Westminster made great contributions starting in the 1400's, trying to make moves toward a standard measure of spelling.

As printing increased, the East Midlands triangle (London-Oxford-Cambridge) became the de facto standard.
Spelling and grammar became more and more fixed over time.

Early publishers' decisions had long-lasting impressions on language. An example in the English language is they, their and them.
