Description:
In response to the admission of Missouri as a slave state, as well as a lack of northern lands for free states culminated in the Missouri Compromise.As part of the compromise, slavery was prohibited north of the 36°30′ parallel, excluding Missouri. Additionally, New Jersey and Delaware were to become free states.
