apr 27, 1968 - Geyer Leaves for Bolivia

Description:

Geyer was part of an effort to recover Che's diary that he had kept during his final months. While in Bolivia she also interviewed men who had been close to Che in an attempy to piece together the lost pieces of his story. She conducted interviews with many men who fought alongside Che, including Régis Debray, who was imprisoned after Che's execution. Geyer also sought ought people who had come to posess some of Che's personal items. One man had the bloodied remains of the shirt that Che had been wearing when he was killed. To Geyer, it appeared that Che may have been shot and beaten even after he had died. While in Bolivia, Geyer gained a great deal of knowledge about the months leading up to Che's death.
