dec 12, 1970 - First Man On Luna
Description:
On December 12, 1970, Russian cosmonauts Makarov Davenski (commander and veteran), Dimitri Vladamov (technical engineer) and Kazimir Ladavich (navigational and communications operator) successfully landed on Terra's nuatural satellite, Luna; this marked the conclusion of the European-American space race with the Russians having officially bested their opponent with both achieving record levels of time spent within the cosmos, but also having landed on the moon. This severely crippled the American spirit, leaving opportunity for the Soviets to escalate their elevation of technological superiority more.
