Description:

Aluminium printing plates would store the contents of the image to printed using ink and then transferred to a rubber blanket and then the printing surface which could be a  range of materials from paper to plastic or wood. However, the printing plates had to be aligned using a set of registration markers and could only be printed onto flat surfaces. This process was used for printing books newspapers and magazines and it is still used commonly today and follow on from stereotyping.
