jun 30, 1725 - Stereotyping

Description:

Invented by William Ged. This method allowed people to print very quickly, enabling newspapers to take advantage of them. A dried mat would be used as a mould to cast the stereotype from a hot metal plate. as time moved forward this method has been slowly replaced by lithographic plating and photosensitive plastics which are both a more durable alternative compared to using Papier Mache.
