jan 1, 1819 - Rotary Printing press - Napier 1819
Description:
Paper is passed between two adjacent rows of cylinders containing the printing plate. Works in contrary to flatbed printing which printed onto a flat surface. Primarily used in long printing runs for printing newspapers and was a very efficient method. These continuous print runs were limited by the strength of the paper or printing application and were capable of transferring up to 4 colours.
