Description:
This policy was originally designed to address challenges faced by many standards in order to close the achievement gap. Re authorizations ensured that changes/amendments were made according to needs and criticism.It was successful because it made a formal connection between education and the war on poverty. It has provided aid and resources to numerous low-income students and tried to close the achievement gap.
It later evolved into NCLB and, most recently, ESSA.
