jan 1, 1226 - Compilation of the Registro grosso

Description:

Whatever its significance at the moment of its reception, there can be no doubt that the privilege of 1116 was seen in retrospect as the foundation charter of the Bolognese commune and, as such, was placed at teh beginning of the great chartulary of the commune, known as the Registro grosso, compiled by the learned notary Raniero da Perugia in 1226.
