jan 1, 1689 - double bellows

Description:

This was not the equivalent of a ‘pair of bellows’ so it possibly meant double sized. The examples were quite late and occurred in Sheffield wills and inventories, e.g. Francis Brownell: 1689 1 paire of dubble bellows; John Fearnally 1732 One double Belley(HI). See bellows.
