An early dialect word for a man whose wife had died. 1550 <i>Thomas Barrett, Cromwell, widueman</i> (YRS11/12). The only example noted is from Nottinghamshire where widow-woman also occurred: 1536 <i>Isabell Demoke, Newark wedowoman </i>(YRS11/51).
