jan 1, 1633 - Galileo's trial

Description:

Galileo confessed. He was put on house arrest.

After trial, he published (through a protestant publisher) his final book.

Conjectured that force was needed to change motion not sustain motion, as Aristotle taught. He also was the first to come up with the idea of friction slowing objects down. He discovered falling objects accelerate at the same rate and set the stage for Isaac Newton.
