jun 11, 1963 - Kennedy Sends in Federal Troops

Description:

George Wallace had a firm stance on keeping segregated Alabama segregated, after the Brown vs. Board of Education Court ruling the court ruled that all segregation in schools was illegal. George Wallace stood outside of the University of Alabama and took his stance against the Deputy General that this was a states right and no African Americans would be allowed. President John F. Kennedy had to send in troops to allow the African Americans to get in to school and mandated that George Wallace had to be removed along with the African Americans to be protected by the National Guard. This sent a very positive image towards the fight for achieving equality.
