nov 1, 1955 - Gulf of Tonkin Resolution
Description:
The Gulf of Tonkin was the event before the Vietnamese War (Nov 1st, 1955-April 30th, 1975) that caused many in the United States to distrust the government completely and rioting in America to completely multiply. The Gulf of Tonkin resolution granted President Johnson all necessary measures to repel any attack against US forces, based on a lie that the United States had been attacked earlier on by Vietnamese ships. It was passed on August 7, 1964, by the U.S. Congress after the alleged attack surfaced back in America to the President. The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution launched America’s full-scale involvement in the Vietnam War.
