The twenties were a time of prosper for the United States world war one had just finished and everyone was very optimistic. But in 1929, the stock market crashed, it is known as the most devastating stock market crash in history for the United States. By 1933, it caused almost half of the banks in the U.S. failed, and 3o percent of the workforce was unemployed. It marked the beginning of a 12 year Great Depression affecting the United State and the world.
