jan 8, 1765 - Enlightenment
Description:
The Enlightenment was a way of thinking, a way of government. It gave power to the people and balanced the lives of citizens, and though it rarely denounced despotism it inspired revolution heavily. With such thinkers as Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Voltaire, an entirely new political philosophy was born that shaped the 18th century.
