jan 1, 1783 - American Independence Formalized
Description:
The American Revolution was massively important for several reasons. It bankrupted France, leading to a series of decisions that can be traced to the start of the French Revolution. It gave meaning to revolutions as well, bringing the idea back into the minds of the people. The Revolution also damaged Britain in a time of great tension for them, weakening the British Empire further. (Palmer 40)
