jun 30, 1966 - National Organization for Women

Description:

This was a feminist movement that began in 1966 and was founded by 49 women who were tired of laws not being passed for them, or laws being passed and not implemented. The goals of the organization were to give women an opportunity to participate in American society and to make them more like equals to men. They had six main issues that they wanted to address and they were reproductive health services, violence against women, constitutional equality for women, promoting diversity, lesbian rights, and economic justice. The continuation for the fight for their rights continued on for the next few years into Title IX.
