October 24, 1945 was the day that the United States President FDR, and the British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, issued a declaration that was signed by 26 different countries that was a peacekeeping organization after WWII. It was in replacement to the ineffective League of Nations and at it’s beginning had 51 countries involved and now has 193. Some of the objectives of the United Nations are to maintain international peace and security, advocate human rights, fostering economic development, protect the environment, and providing humanitarian aid.
